This course provides an overview of safety and health hazards associated with the long term care industry. Nursing Home Administrators are eligible for 7.0 CEU credits.
Topics to be discussed include:
- Introduction to the Long Term Care Special Emphasis Program
- Typical LTC OSHA Citations
- Ergonomics
- Tuberculosis
- Bloodborne Pathogens
- Workplace Violence
- Slips, Trips and Falls
The course will conclude with a presentation including the
- New Reporting Requirements
- Hazard Communication
- Emergency Eyewash Stations
- PPE
At the end of this course, students should have a basic understanding of regulatory requirements, long term care safety and health risks and methods to reduce or eliminate long term care safety and health hazards.
