Toxic and Hazardous Substances

This course provides a toxic and hazardous substances overview, 29 CFR 1910, Subpart Z. Topics to be discussed include chemical hazard identification, definition of permissible exposure limit (PEL) and other exposure acronyms, toxicology information, combined chemical effects and biological exposure indices. At the end of the course, students should have a basic understanding of industrial hygiene, chemical exposure terms and hazard recognition.
