This course provides an overview of the food manufacturing special emphasis program (SEP). The elements covered in the course include why food manufacturing was added to the N.C. Special Emphasis Program as a Strategic Plan component, the implications for North Carolina employers and what to expect during an inspection. At the end of this course, students should have a basic understanding of the regulatory requirements, purpose for strategic focus and examples of items getting special attention during compliance inspections in food manufacturing.
