Long Term Care*
(General Industry)

This course provides an overview of safety and health hazards associated with the long term care industry. Nursing Home Administrators are eligible for CEU credits.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Introduction to the Long Term Care Special Emphasis Program
  • Typical LTC OSHA Citations
  • Ergonomics
  • Tuberculosis
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Workplace Violence
  • Slips, Trips and Falls

The course will conclude with a presentation including the

  • New Reporting Requirements
  • Hazard Communication
  • Emergency Eyewash Stations
  • PPE

At the end of this course, students should have a basic understanding of regulatory requirements, long term care safety and health risks and methods to reduce or eliminate long term care safety and health hazards.

To maximize your benefit from this course, we recommend you bring the applicable North Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Standard(s) to class. You can print individual standards out from the Federal OSHA website (for General Industry) or you can purchase the standards book from our office. To purchase this book, please call 919-707-7876.

  2. You will receive your certificate via email within 2-3 weeks.
  3. We only provide certificates to those who register and attend.
  4. Total course hours equal MESH credit earned.
